Product Description — Amazon Kindle DX

The Amazon Kindle DX is an electronic reader released in May 2009 as a larger-screen alternative to the Kindle 2. The Kindle DX has the largest screen of the Kindle lineup measuring in at 9.7 inches diagonally, and has the most storage, with 3.3GB of usable storage, enough for up to 3500 books.

Additionally, the Kindle DX features a new native PDF viewer, with annotation and zoom functions, and an accelerometer allowing for auto-rotation. Kindle DX users can now access the Kindle Store's selection of over 810,000 titles from the reader via WiFi or free global 3G coverage. The DX also boasts longer battery life than its predecessors, claiming 7 days of battery life with the WiFi connection active.

Like previous generations, the Kindle DX features proprietary e-ink electronic paper technology for reduced glare and power consumption with a high-contrast screen displaying 16 shades of grey. Other standard features from previous generations include text-to-speech technology, bookmarking and annotation, adjustable text size, and integrated dictionary.
